SAP Basis Consultant

About the role

The SAP Basis Consultant will act as the system administrator for SAP environments, ranging from SAP R/3 to SAP S/4HANA. The role ensures that all SAP systems operate smoothly, securely, and efficiently while supporting business stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain SAP architecture to meet corporate requirements.
• Install, configure, upgrade, and migrate SAP systems as needed.
• Troubleshoot SAP Basis issues and perform regular performance tuning for both database and SAP layers.
• Manage SAP administration tasks such as user ID creation, transport management, role and profile maintenance, and security troubleshooting.
• Handle OSS/SAP Service Marketplace queries, maintain system data, license keys, and developer registrations.
• Perform SAP database administration, including space management, backup/restore strategy, security, and performance monitoring.
• Conduct SAP licensing reviews, identify inactive users, and prepare audit reports.
• Document SAP processes, procedures, and change plans.
• Collaborate with clients and business stakeholders to understand requirements and resolve pain points.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in IT or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in SAP Basis, NetWeaver, or ABAP Application Server administration.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA environments.
• SAP Basis, NetWeaver, and ABAP Application Server.
• SAP Solution Manager (plus).
• SAP BPC configuration and performance tuning.
• SUSE Linux operating system.
• Database administration (space management, backup/restore, performance).
• OSS note handling and SAP licensing management.
