Application Developer - SAP ABAP HANA

About the role

IBM Consulting is seeking an Application Developer specialized in SAP ABAP and HANA to join its global consulting team. You will work on designing, developing and supporting SAP solutions for leading enterprises, helping them advance their hybrid cloud and AI initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain SAP ABAP code following best practices.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and detailed designs.
• Collaborate with functional analysts and business users throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Perform code reviews, unit testing, and provide post‑deployment support.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and optimise ABAP programs for efficiency and scalability.
• Stay current with ABAP, SAP HANA and related technologies and propose enhancements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.
• 4–5 years of hands‑on experience in SAP ABAP HANA development.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Ability to work across different time zones.

Required skills

• ABAP Objects (object‑oriented programming).
• SAP HANA concepts, CDS, OData, AMDP.
• WRICEF development (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, Workflow).
• BRF+ functions, rules, decision tables.
• Fiori development (RAP, freestyle) – preferred.
• Relevant SAP certifications – preferred.
