Application Development Specialist

About the role

The Application Development Specialist will join a newly created team tasked with building a financial API platform. You will work on modernising existing APIs and creating new ones that connect backend financial systems with external clients, exposing them through an API gateway.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new micro‑services using .NET technologies.
• Analyse and redesign current APIs to improve performance and scalability.
• Extract business requirements from existing objects and implement new API methods.
• Participate in the monetisation of the APIs you create.
• Write and optimise SQL queries to enhance API performance.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to support CI/CD pipelines.
• Perform other duties as requested by the company.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of the .NET Framework and software architecture.
• Experience designing and exposing APIs, preferably with Swagger.
• Solid background in database design and query optimisation (T‑SQL, PL/SQL).
• Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman and SoapUI.
• Understanding of design patterns, SOLID principles, clean code, and stateless micro‑service design.
• Hands‑on experience with Git, branching strategies, and agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
• Previous exposure to banking, payments, or related financial services is a plus.
