Architectural Design Reviewer

About the role

Egis International, a leading global architectural, consulting, construction engineering, operations and mobility services firm, is looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Architectural Design Reviewer in Cairo, Egypt. The reviewer checks architectural designs against building standards, codes and project specifications, works with design teams to give constructive feedback and helps drive design excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Review architectural designs, drawings and documentation for compliance with building codes, regulations and project requirements
• Analyse design proposals and give detailed feedback on feasibility, functionality and adherence to standards
• Carry out quality assurance on plans, elevations, sections and technical specifications
• Spot design conflicts, inconsistencies and potential construction issues before implementation
• Work with architects, engineers and project managers to resolve design challenges
• Prepare design review reports with findings, recommendations and required modifications
• Take part in design meetings and present review outcomes
• Maintain organized records of design reviews for project archives
• Mentor junior team members on design standards and review methods, and stay up to date with industry standards and regulations

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in architectural design review, quality assurance or a related field
• Knowledge of local Egyptian building regulations and construction practices
• Experience with design compliance documentation and regulatory submissions
• Familiarity with sustainability and green building design principles
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and to mentor others

Required skills

• Proficiency in CAD software and design documentation tools
• Experience with BIM software and workflows
• Strong analytical, critical thinking and communication skills
