Architectural Lighting Designer – Design & Estimation Engineer

About the role

EgyBell is seeking a Design & Estimation Engineer specialized in architectural lighting to join a well‑known company in Maadi. The role involves creating accurate lighting designs, performing cost estimations, and supporting sales and project teams to secure profitable projects.

Key responsibilities

• Review project specifications, drawings and tender documents to capture technical and commercial requirements.
• Develop professional lighting layouts using Dialux, Relux or similar software, adhering to client standards.
• Prepare detailed lighting calculations, product selections and technical submittals.
• Estimate project costs—including materials, labour and logistics—to produce competitive proposals.
• Collaborate with sales and technical teams to ensure feasibility and client compliance.
• Provide technical support during bidding, negotiation and execution phases.
• Maintain a supplier database, product cost records and design references for accurate estimations.
• Assist in preparing BOQs, quotations and design documentation for tenders and ongoing projects.
• Participate in project handovers to ensure smooth transition from design to execution.
• Stay updated on new lighting technologies, standards and best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Lighting Design or a related technical field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in lighting design, electrical estimation or project engineering, preferably in architectural or commercial lighting.
• Strong knowledge of lighting systems, control solutions and relevant standards.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking and time‑management skills.
• Fluent communication in English and Arabic.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Dialux lighting design software.
• Proficiency with Relux lighting design software.
• AutoCAD.
• Microsoft Office suite.
