Buyer – Direct Procurement (Energy Management Solutions)

About the role

The Buyer – Direct Procurement will manage sourcing and supplier performance for components used in Schneider Electric’s energy management and automation solutions. This role supports the “Local for Local” strategy, ensuring cost‑efficient, reliable and sustainable supply while driving competitiveness and resilience.

Key responsibilities

• Execute sourcing strategies aligned with the Global Category Management framework.
• Lead RFQs, supplier selection and commercial negotiations for electrical enclosures, sheet‑metal parts, plastics, injection‑molded components and electromechanical assemblies.
• Ensure compliance with Schneider Electric technical, quality and regulatory standards.
• Identify, qualify and onboard suppliers in line with corporate Code of Conduct.
• Assess supplier capabilities (manufacturing processes, quality systems, capacity) and monitor KPIs such as on‑time delivery, defect rate and lead‑time performance.
• Deliver annual cost‑reduction and productivity targets through should‑cost analysis, benchmarking and value‑engineering initiatives.
• Manage purchase orders, contracts and supplier data in SAP and digital procurement tools, ensuring policy compliance and data accuracy.
• Collaborate with global category managers, engineering, quality, planning, logistics and manufacturing to support new product introduction and industrialisation projects.

Required profile

• Proven experience in direct procurement or purchasing for industrial components.
• Strong understanding of supplier development, performance management and cost‑competitiveness.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with engineering, quality and manufacturing teams.
• Familiarity with sustainability and responsible sourcing principles.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP procurement modules and digital procurement systems.
