Chief Accountant

About the role

The Chief Accountant leads the organization’s accounting and financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, regulatory compliance, and robust financial controls across all projects and business functions. This senior position provides strategic financial insights to senior management and drives continuous improvement within the finance team.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee preparation and submission of timely financial reports in line with accounting standards, company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Validate accounting records, consolidate financial data and ensure compliance with statutory and internal controls.
• Provide financial analysis, variance and trend analysis, and support senior management with forecasts and performance evaluations.
• Supervise day‑to‑day accounting activities including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, general ledger and project accounting.
• Monitor cash flow, manage working capital, forecast inflows/outflows and develop risk mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, resolve findings and support tax compliance activities.
• Lead process improvements, implement new accounting standards and drive adoption of financial systems and technologies.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in accounting leadership, preferably in a multi‑project environment.
• Deep knowledge of accounting standards, regulatory compliance and internal control frameworks.
• Proven ability to produce accurate financial reporting and deliver insightful analysis for strategic decision‑making.
• Strong background in cash‑flow management, risk assessment and audit coordination.
• Demonstrated track record of leading and developing accounting teams.
