Child Protection Officer (System Strengthening)

About the role

The UN Volunteer assignment supports UNICEF’s Child Protection System Strengthening (CPSS) Programme in Egypt. The Officer will work closely with government bodies, civil society and development partners to advance child rights, implement CRC recommendations and monitor system reform commitments.

Key responsibilities

• Support coordination and follow‑up on implementation of CRC recommendations and child‑rights commitments.
• Maintain communication with ministries, the Country Council for Childhood and Motherhood, NGOs and development partners.
• Prepare technical briefs, reports, concept notes, meeting minutes and advocacy materials.
• Organise consultations, workshops, trainings and inter‑agency meetings.
• Assist in the implementation and monitoring of EU‑funded project activities and related initiatives.
• Track progress against work plans, outputs, deliverables and reporting requirements.
• Document programme achievements, lessons learned and good practices.
• Conduct background research and compile legal, policy and programme information on child‑protection system strengthening.
• Perform other tasks as required by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in human rights, child protection, programme coordination, international development or a related field.
• Minimum three years of professional experience in child protection, human rights or international development programmes.
• Experience working with government institutions, UN agencies or development partners is desirable.
