Compliance Officer – AML & KYC Specialist

About the role

The Compliance Officer will support the bank’s AML and KYC programmes, ensuring all activities meet regulatory requirements and internal policies. You will work closely with the Compliance Manager and business units to monitor, investigate and report suspicious activities.

Key responsibilities

• Perform enhanced due diligence on high‑risk account openings and make decisions accordingly.
• Process daily SAS AML alerts and conduct transaction‑monitoring reviews.
• Investigate AML alerts, draft Suspicious Activity Reports and support regulatory inspections.
• Review and monitor customer accounts in line with the bank’s KYC/AML policy and SOPs.
• Assist the Compliance Manager in updating policies, creating reports/MIS/MERs, and preparing regulatory submissions.
• Provide compliant solutions to business requests and intervene when transactions pose AML risks.
• Participate in system and product development to embed AML controls.
• Support compliance‑related projects and UATs, ensuring timely completion.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in AML compliance, transaction monitoring and enhanced due diligence.
• Ability to analyse customer transaction trends and draft regulatory reports.
• Strong knowledge of KYC/AML regulations and internal compliance procedures.
• Proactive attitude with the capacity to work with business units to deliver compliant solutions.
