Contracts Team Leader - Construction Projects

About the role

Innovo Group is looking for a Contracts Team Leader for its projects in Ras El Hekma, Cairo. The role leads and supervises the contracts team in managing the full lifecycle of project contracts and subcontracts, including contract administration, claim evaluations, risk assessments and compliance with contractual obligations and legal frameworks. It also coordinates internally with subcontractors and clients.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the day-to-day activities of the contracts team, keeping processes and deliverables consistent.
• Review and interpret contract terms, conditions and obligations for main contracts and subcontracts.
• Oversee claims, variations and time extension requests, and support negotiations with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Ensure accurate, timely contractual communications, notices and records, and coordinate with legal, commercial, procurement and planning teams on disputes.
• Monitor compliance with scope, budget and time, and ensure change control procedures are followed.
• Maintain contract registers, variation logs, claims registers and change control documentation.
• Advise contracts engineers and other team members, and act as the central point of contact for contract interpretation and compliance issues.
• Manage contract disputes, capture changes through change orders, written amendments or additional work orders, and ensure reporting of project issues to the Contracts Manager.
• Ensure all activities follow FIDIC standards, Egyptian regulations and company policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or Construction Management.
• At least 6 years of contract management experience in construction, including 2-3 years in a supervisory or team leader role.
• Proven experience in claims management, risk mitigation and dispute avoidance.
• Fluent in English, written and spoken.
• Certifications such as PMP or contracts-related licenses are a plus.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of FIDIC and other standard forms of contract used in Egypt and the MENA region.
• Proficiency in contract management systems, MS Office and document control tools.
• Leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
