Cost Controller – EPC Project (Desalination Plant)

About the role

We are seeking a Cost Controller to join the project team for a new desalination plant on Egypt’s North Coast. The role operates within a complex EPC environment, supporting cost, schedule and performance control for a large‑scale industrial project with high visibility.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and manage cost control activities in line with the approved budget.
• Estimate cost variances, update forecasts and determine revised budgets.
• Produce monthly actual cost reports and maintain the master budget.
• Analyse expenditures, calculate future costs based on labor productivity, material price trends, subcontractor rates and risk factors.
• Prepare and present cost and schedule reports to internal and client management.
• Supervise and guide less‑experienced team members and ensure timely issue of reports.
• Perform ad‑hoc duties related to cost control as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent.
• 7–10 years of experience in cost controlling, project accounting or estimating.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of accounting ERP systems.
• Familiarity with construction modelling and planning software such as Primavera.
