Demi Chef de Partie - Hotel Kitchen

About the role

A hotel belonging to the Accor network, which brings together more than 45 brands, 5,500 hotels, 10,000 restaurants and lifestyle destinations, is looking for a Demi Chef de Partie to join its kitchen team in Cairo, Egypt. You will work as a key member of the culinary brigade, supporting the Chef de Partie in preparing exceptional dishes while keeping the highest standards of quality, cleanliness and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain your assigned station clean, organized and fully stocked, following food safety and hygiene standards
• Prepare dishes according to recipes and plating standards, ensuring consistency across services
• Receive and inspect daily produce deliveries, checking quality, weight and temperature
• Control food costs by minimizing waste and following portion control guidelines
• Keep utensils, equipment and tools in good condition and report maintenance issues promptly
• Help train and mentor junior kitchen staff
• Prepare mise en place and set up the station before service
• Take part in kitchen closing, including cleaning, sanitizing and storing ingredients and equipment
• Adapt quickly to changing priorities and service demands, and suggest improvements to kitchen processes and plating

Required profile

• Proven experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in a brigade system or fine dining establishment
• Strong foundation in food preparation, knife skills and culinary fundamentals
• Good understanding of food safety, hygiene and kitchen sanitation
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage several tasks at once
• Physical stamina for long hours in a fast-paced, hot kitchen
• Willingness to work in a multicultural environment and communicate in English
• Culinary training, certification or hospitality education preferred but not required; food safety certification or willingness to obtain one preferred
