Depot Design Engineer Section Head

About the role

Hassan Allam Construction is looking for a seasoned Depot Design Engineer Section Head to lead the planning and design of railway and metro depot facilities. You will be responsible for delivering efficient, maintainable, and standards‑compliant depot solutions from concept through detailed design.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the end‑to‑end design of depot layouts, stabling yards, workshops, inspection buildings, washing plants and ancillary facilities.
• Coordinate design activities with trackwork, civil, structural, architectural, MEP, utilities, signalling, telecommunications, traction power and operational systems.
• Optimize depot configurations for train movements, maintenance efficiency and future expansion.
• Prepare and review design reports, technical specifications, calculations, drawings and BOQs.
• Participate in design reviews, value‑engineering workshops, constructability assessments and technical risk evaluations.
• Provide technical support during construction, addressing queries and design changes.
• Ensure compliance with client requirements and international railway design standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; Master’s in Railway, Transportation or related discipline preferred.
• Minimum 12 years of experience designing railway or metro depot facilities.
• Proven track record on major metro, railway or high‑speed rail projects.
• Strong leadership and ability to coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams.
