Director of Sport

About the role

The King’s School The Crown, part of the Inspired Education network, is seeking an energetic Director of Sport to lead its physical education and sports programmes. Based on a purpose‑built campus in 6th October City, the role will shape a vibrant, inclusive sporting culture for students aged 18 months to 18 years.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for teaching and learning in PE and sport.
• Evaluate and monitor the effectiveness of PE delivery and student progress.
• Drive the school’s sports mission in line with its vision and departmental plan.
• Collaborate with the Executive Head to plan and execute school sports events and competitions.
• Develop, implement and monitor policies, and prepare curriculum and reporting documentation as required.
• Oversee a diverse sports programme, ensuring accessibility for all pupils.
• Manage resources across indoor and outdoor sports facilities.
• Model exemplary professional standards in teaching.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Director of Sport or equivalent senior PE leadership role.
• Confidence using ICT tools in teaching environments.
• Fluency in English at an academic level.
• Experience teaching Key Stage 2 to 3 (or equivalent age groups).
