English Teacher

About the role

The International School of Choueifat in 6-October, Egypt, is hiring an English teacher within its Teaching & Academics department. The school belongs to the SABIS network, which operates in 21 countries and uses its own educational system and teaching methods. The teacher's purpose is to ensure students' success and help them reach their full potential.

Key responsibilities

• Teach classes using the provided lesson plans (and develop them from the pacing charts when needed) so that the SABIS point system can be used.
• Mark exams in line with the schedule and materials given by the department.
• Implement the SABIS Point System in the classroom and proctor exams in a properly managed environment.
• Discuss disciplinary and performance issues with the Academic Quality Controller and the Head of Department.
• Support low-performing students through guidance and motivation.
• Help prepare students for external exams by reviewing past papers according to the revision schedule.
• Aid with duties such as testing, covering absent teachers, organizing students for lunch and buses, and other administrative tasks assigned by management.
• Take part in activity plans for events such as art, open houses and sports, working with the Student Life Coordinator.
• Attend training sessions when requested and carry out other tasks delegated by management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Education or its equivalent.
• At least 1 year of teaching experience.
• English proficiency.
• Professional behaviour, ethics, accountability, excellent communication skills and a commitment to continuous learning.
