Financial Accounting Team Leader

About the role

Rewaa is a fast‑growing SaaS platform for retail, delivering point‑of‑sale, inventory, omnichannel, tax and accounting solutions. The Financial Accounting Team Leader will own the general ledger, month/quarter/year‑end close, reconciliations and statutory reporting, ensuring accurate financial statements in line with GAAP/IFRS while leading a team of accountants.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the monthly, quarterly and year‑end close calendar and produce timely, accurate financial statements.
• Review journal entries, accruals, prepaids, deferrals and intercompany eliminations.
• Oversee balance‑sheet reconciliations (banks, AR/AP, payroll, VAT, fixed assets) and strengthen internal controls.
• Prepare statutory accounts, coordinate external audits and support corporate, indirect and transfer‑pricing tax workpapers.
• Supervise accounts payable/receivable cut‑offs, aging reviews and provisions for doubtful accounts.
• Maintain the chart of accounts, accounting policies and resolve complex accounting issues.
• Manage fixed‑asset capitalization, depreciation, impairments and inventory valuation in partnership with Operations.
• Drive ERP optimisation (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, D365), automate reconciliations and improve close efficiency.
• Lead, coach and develop a team of accountants, setting performance goals and fostering a culture of accuracy.
• Collaborate with FP&A, Treasury, Procurement and Legal on reporting, cash accounting and vendor compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA, ACCA or CMA preferred.
• 5‑8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2‑3 years in a supervisory role.
• Mandatory experience in a SaaS company.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, month‑end close, consolidations and reconciliations.
• Proven track record of improving processes, controls and partnering with cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite or Microsoft Dynamics 365.
• Advanced Excel and reconciliation tools.
• Statutory reporting and audit coordination.
• Financial accounting standards (IFRS, GAAP).
