Freelance Graphic Designer – UNFPA Arab States Regional Office

About the role

The UNFPA Arab States Regional Office (ASRO) seeks experienced freelance graphic designers to join a non‑binding retainer framework. Designers will support the Communications Unit by delivering high‑quality visual assets for digital and print publications across the Arab region on an as‑needed basis.

Key responsibilities

• Produce graphic design and layout solutions that strictly follow UNFPA branding guidelines.
• Develop three distinct initial cover and layout concepts for each brief and refine selected concepts through iterative feedback.
• Ensure multilingual layouts are correctly formatted for Arabic RTL and English/French LTR text.
• Apply WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards to all digital deliverables, including alt‑text, color contrast, and logical reading order.
• Prepare print‑ready files optimized for recycled‑paper printing when required.
• Avoid the use of unedited AI‑generated images or automated layout tools.

Required profile

• Proven experience in professional graphic design and desktop publishing for international organisations.
• Strong familiarity with multilingual design, especially Arabic RTL formatting.
• Commitment to accessibility best practices and sustainable design principles.
