Freshman Admission Counselor

About the role

The Freshman Admission Counselor supports Louisiana State University of Alexandria by guiding prospective first‑time students through the admission process. This role involves evaluating applications, providing information on academic programs, and representing the university at recruitment events.

Key responsibilities

• Process on‑campus and online freshman admission applications and determine admissibility.
• Review transcripts, test scores, and credit‑by‑examination records.
• Finalize admission decisions and update institutional data after high school graduation.
• Advise prospective students on admission requirements, curricula, and program selection.
• Recruit prospective students at high schools, community events, and special campus activities.
• Assist with special events and perform additional tasks assigned by the Director of Admissions or Enrollment Management leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution (required by May 2026).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to travel, including overnight trips, and work evenings or weekends as needed.
• Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment while staying organized.
• Professional representation of the university and ability to present to small and large audiences.
• Valid driver’s license with a clear driving record.
