General Accountant

About the role

Servier Monde is looking for a General Accountant in Cairo. This junior-level role manages key accounting activities to ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data, focusing on precise transaction recording, timely reconciliations and support of the month-end closing process. It supports the Finance Business Partnering team while complying with Egyptian regulations and Servier Group accounting policies.

Key responsibilities

• Accounts Payable: manage the end-to-end supplier invoice process, including verification, timely payments, vendor account maintenance and regular reconciliations.
• Employee advances and expenses: oversee administration of advances and expense claims, ensuring accurate settlements and monitoring outstanding balances.
• General Ledger: prepare journal entries, run trial balance reconciliations and support month-end and year-end closing.
• Fixed assets: maintain the fixed asset register, record additions, transfers and disposals, and run accurate monthly depreciation.
• Accruals: prepare and reconcile monthly accruals so expenses are recognised in the correct period.
• Ensure financial documentation meets internal control standards and complies with Egyptian tax laws and audit requirements.

Required profile

• Graduate of Commerce or a relevant financial field.
• 1-2 years of professional accounting experience (junior level).
• Professional accounting certification (e.g. partial IFRS Diploma) is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
• Solid understanding of Egyptian tax laws (VAT, WHT, Corporate Tax).
• Knowledge of standard accounting principles and practices.
