GL/AR/AP Accountant – Shared Services Center (Africa)

About the role

bioMérieux is launching a new Shared Services Center (SSC) in Africa and seeks a motivated GL/AR/AP Accountant to support General Ledger, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes across its African subsidiaries. The role reports to the SSC Europe Manager and contributes to accurate financial reporting and process improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Execute end‑to‑end GL activities including cash, inventory, provisions, fixed assets, intercompany and month‑end closing.
• Perform AR duties such as customer account reconciliations.
• Manage AP tasks including vendor invoice processing, travel expenses, payments and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports using corporate tools.
• Collaborate with African subsidiaries to resolve operational issues.
• Support continuous‑improvement initiatives and the launch of the new SSC location.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in GL, AP or AR accounting.
• Strong analytical abilities, accuracy and ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent English communication; Arabic reading ability is a plus.
• Flexibility to work Monday‑Friday, with occasional Friday work during closing periods.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
