About the role

The Department of Chemistry and Physics at Louisiana State University Alexandria seeks a full‑time tenure‑track Assistant Professor of Chemistry. This nine‑month position begins in August 2026 and focuses on delivering high‑quality undergraduate chemistry instruction both on‑campus and online.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and teach lecture and laboratory courses in General, Analytical, and Instrumental Analysis, in‑person and via online platforms.
• Maintain high instructional standards and employ innovative teaching methods to support student success.
• Mentor undergraduate research projects and provide academic advising.
• Participate in university committees, curriculum development, and institutional meetings.
• Allocate effort across teaching (60%), scholarly activities (20%), and service (20%).

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Chemistry.
• Demonstrated teaching experience in a broad range of chemistry subjects, including General, Analytical, and Instrumental Analysis.
• Ability to teach both on‑site and online and to develop new upper‑level courses.
• Commitment to undergraduate mentorship and research involvement.
