Internal Controls & Compliance Lead

About the role

We are looking for an Internal Controls & Compliance Lead to design and embed an enterprise‑wide control framework based on COSO principles across Bosta’s operations in Egypt and future markets. The role will partner with Finance, IT, Operations and external auditors to ensure robust risk management, regulatory compliance and accurate financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a COSO‑aligned internal control framework tailored to Bosta’s operating model.
• Map critical business processes, identify control gaps and create a remediation roadmap with owners and timelines.
• Develop and maintain the Risk‑Control Matrix covering financial reporting, operations and compliance risks.
• Prepare management representation letters, process narratives and flowcharts for auditor review.
• Serve as primary liaison with external auditors during annual audits and due‑diligence.
• Coordinate internal audit planning, fieldwork, reporting and remediation tracking.
• Monitor regulatory compliance across jurisdictions and ensure Finance processes meet IFRS, tax, labor and social insurance standards.
• Manage compliance framework for outsourced labor vendors, verifying payment accuracy and contract adherence.
• Design preventive controls, automate manual processes and embed controls into ERP, HRIS and payment platforms.
• Establish KPIs for control effectiveness and report quarterly to FP&A and CFO.

Required profile

• 7‑10 years of experience in internal audit, internal controls or risk & compliance, with at least 3 years in a senior/lead role.
• Background in a Big 4 firm (Deloitte, PwC, EY, KPMG) preferably in risk advisory or audit.
• Direct involvement in a major control transformation project.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, COSO and control testing methodologies.
• Professional certification such as CIA preferred.
• Experience in logistics, e‑commerce or high‑growth technology firms is a plus.
• Multi‑country exposure and familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and data‑analytics tools are advantageous.
