Investment Director – Origination & Business Development

About the role

Valmore is seeking a senior leader to head its Origination & Business Development function. The role serves as the commercial front door for the investment platform, driving deal flow across MENA and selected international markets.

Key responsibilities

• Build and manage a diversified, proprietary deal pipeline across sectors and geographies.
• Cultivate relationships with investment banks, M&A advisors, and sector specialists to position Valmore as a preferred buyer.
• Develop sector‑specific investment theses, sector maps, competitive landscapes and target long‑lists.
• Lead initial screening of opportunities, preparing memos with valuation, strategic rationale and risk flags for CIO review.
• Coordinate handoff of approved deals to the Transactions team, ensuring seamless transition.
• Recruit, manage and mentor the BD team, defining sourcing KPIs and reporting cadence.
• Represent Valmore at industry conferences, investor forums and bilateral meetings to enhance brand visibility.

Required profile

• 10–14 years of experience in deal origination, business development or investment‑banking coverage.
• Established network of bankers, M&A advisors and corporate contacts in MENA or target sectors.
• Proven ability to develop sector coverage strategies and translate macro theses into actionable pipelines.
• Fluent in English and Arabic; MBA from a top‑tier institution preferred.
