Jira Developer – Advanced Configuration & Automation

About the role

The Jira Developer will design, develop, and maintain customized Jira solutions that enable efficient project, program, and DevOps delivery across the organization. You will work closely with PMO, DevOps, engineering, and business teams to translate requirements into robust Jira configurations, automations, and integrations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, configure, and customize Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and associated workflows.
• Develop custom Jira plugins and apps using Java, Atlassian SDK, and REST APIs.
• Implement automation rules, post‑functions, validators, and conditions with ScriptRunner/Groovy.
• Integrate Jira with CI/CD tools (GitLab, Jenkins, Azure DevOps), Confluence, Bitbucket, and other enterprise systems.
• Create and maintain dashboards, reports, and KPIs for projects and programs.
• Manage Jira upgrades, performance tuning, security, and user access.
• Provide L3 support for incidents, issues, and enhancements.
• Document configurations, operating procedures, and support data migration, cleanup, and archiving.
• Mentor junior administrators or developers as needed.

Required profile

• 6‑8 years of hands‑on experience with Jira (Software and/or Service Management).
• Strong expertise in Jira administration, customization, and automation.
• Solid understanding of Agile, Scrum, Kanban, SAFe and DevOps practices.
• Experience with Jira REST APIs, Java development, and Atlassian SDK.
• Proficiency in Groovy/ScriptRunner and SQL.
• Proven ability to integrate Jira with CI/CD pipelines and version‑control systems.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills; ability to work independently and with diverse stakeholders.
