Laundry Attendant

About the role

The Laundry Attendant ensures that all linens, garments, and textiles are cleaned, inspected, and returned to guests and staff in pristine condition. Working within the Sheraton Soma Bay Resort, you will operate laundry equipment, follow safety standards, and support the housekeeping team.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor washing, dry‑cleaning, and drying machines, adding chemicals and cleaning lint traps as required.
• Identify stained or damaged items and decide on repair, spot‑treatment, rewash, or discard.
• Inspect cleaned articles for quality and place them in clean linen carts.
• Set dryer times and temperatures according to fabric type and remove lint, debris, and filter residues after each load.
• Fold cleaned items by hand or using a folding machine to designated sizes.
• Maintain accurate records of all items laundered.
• Follow all safety, security, and uniform policies and report any accidents or unsafe conditions.

Required profile

• No specific education or prior experience required.
• Ability to work full‑time on site in a fast‑paced environment.
• Physical capability to stand, walk, lift and move items up to 25 lb.
• Commitment to confidentiality, teamwork, and quality standards.

Required skills

• Operate washing, dry‑cleaning, and drying machinery.
• Apply laundry chemicals safely.
• Maintain detailed laundry records.
• Perform basic textile inspection and folding.
