Learning Support Assistant (LSA)

About the role

Westview International Language School is looking for a Learning Support Assistant to join its educational team. The role provides targeted support to students with additional learning needs, working closely with teachers so that all learners can access the curriculum effectively and reach their potential. The workplace is on site.

Key responsibilities

• Work one-on-one or in small groups with students who need extra support.
• Assist in delivering personalized learning programs tailored to each student's needs.
• Support classroom management by promoting positive behaviour and engagement.
• Help adapt teaching materials and resources to improve student understanding.
• Monitor student progress and give feedback to teaching staff.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents and other professionals to support student development.

Required profile

• Relevant qualifications in Education, Special Education or a related field.
• Experience as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar support role is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Patience, empathy and enthusiasm for working with children.
• Ability to adapt to different learning styles and needs, and commitment to an inclusive, supportive environment.
