Mechanical Design Engineer – Gas Networks

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our gas network team in Maadi, Cairo. The role involves designing and reviewing pipeline and regulator layouts, ensuring compliance with international standards, and supporting the development of safe and efficient gas supply infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Review gas network designs, pipeline route selections, and regulator placements against international standards and codes.
• Simulate and analyze gas networks using tools such as Synergi Gas, Stoner, or calculation sheets to optimise design and cost.
• Perform path routing, customer load calculations, and wall‑thickness design for PE networks, steel pipelines, and customer‑premises installations.
• Prepare technical and financial feasibility studies and produce monthly and yearly design activity progress reports.
• Generate accurate Material Take‑Offs, create construction drawings in AutoCAD and GIS software, and compile Bills of Quantities.
• Conduct weekly on‑site surveys to collect data and verify engineering drawings against real‑world conditions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience.
• Strong command of English.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently under project pressure and tight schedules.
