Mechanical Design Engineer – HVAC, Plumbing & Firefighting

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design of building services systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver compliant, efficient, and cost‑effective solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design HVAC systems: perform load calculations, select equipment, size ducts, and develop air distribution layouts.
• Design plumbing networks: water supply, drainage, stormwater, and specialty systems.
• Design fire protection systems: sprinkler layouts, hose reels, fire pumps, and clean‑agent solutions.
• Create detailed engineering drawings using BIM tools such as Revit and AutoCAD.
• Conduct design calculations for heating/cooling loads, pump head, pipe sizing, and ventilation rates.
• Ensure designs comply with ASHRAE, NFPA, IPC, SBC and other relevant codes.
• Coordinate with architectural, structural, and electrical disciplines to avoid clashes.
• Review shop drawings, material submittals, and technical documents.
• Support authority submissions, approvals, and provide on‑site technical assistance.
• Perform value engineering to optimise cost and efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3–5 years of experience in HVAC, plumbing, and fire‑protection design.
• Strong knowledge of international codes and standards.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain high attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Revit.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Experience with MS Office.
• Familiarity with design software such as HAP or Elite (or similar).
