Mechanical Maintenance Specialist – Mining Plant

About the role

The Mechanical Maintenance Specialist is the functional lead for fixed‑plant and process mechanical maintenance at Sukari’s gold mining operation. Working on‑site, you will ensure that mechanical assets are maintained safely, reliably, and to defined quality standards while supporting production targets.

Key responsibilities

• Control execution of mechanical work, verify repair quality and safe hand‑back to service.
• Apply standards, tolerances and acceptance criteria to prevent re‑work and repeat failures.
• Provide expertise on rotating and static equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanical integrity controls.
• Interpret drawings and manuals to define safe job steps and act as technical reference for crews.
• Lead structured troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Validate job readiness, prioritize work based on criticality, safety risk and production impact.
• Support spare‑parts specifications and ensure materials readiness.
• Produce accurate maintenance performance and condition reports in SAP/CMMS.

Required profile

• Proven experience in mechanical maintenance within an industrial or mining environment.
• Strong ability to lead technical teams and coordinate daily priorities across operations.
• Solid understanding of safety‑critical controls (PTW, LOTO, confined space, hot work).
