MEP Assistant Cost Manager

About the role

JLL is looking for an MEP Assistant Cost Manager / MEP Quantity Surveyor with pre-contract experience, working on-site in Cairo. The role covers cost management and quantity surveying for pre-contract and post-contract consultancy services.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare budget and pre-contract cost estimates, and cost plans at various stages of the project
• Prepare Bills of Quantities in standard formats and pre-tender cost estimates
• Write tender evaluation reports and manage change control for additional works
• Take part in cost reporting and prepare budgets versus actuals reconciliation reports
• Review measurement tasks using CostX or equivalent software
• Prepare cash flow forecasts for the project and attend commercial meetings with stakeholders

Required profile

• 3-5 years of experience in the real estate sector and in electrical / mechanical disciplines
• Degree in a related field such as Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil, Architectural, Electrical or Mechanical engineering, or equivalent
• Experience preferably in construction, fit-out and/or renovation projects
• Experience preferably in the Middle East, though not essential
• Proactive, hardworking, with attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure

Required skills

• Knowledge of standard methods of measurement (POMI, CSI, NRM1, NRM2, etc.)
• AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
• Cost estimation and quantity surveying software such as CostX, Plan Swift, Bluebeam or Candy is advantageous
