MEP Quantity Surveyor

About the role

The MEP Quantity Surveyor will support the project team by managing costs throughout the construction lifecycle. The role involves cost estimation, budget monitoring, contract administration and measurement of mechanical, electrical and plumbing works.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates for MEP construction projects.
• Gather information from project teams to support cost forecasting.
• Monitor and control project budgets, identifying and addressing variances.
• Measure and quantify MEP works in line with industry standards.
• Prepare interim and final payment valuations.
• Assist in the preparation and evaluation of tender documents.
• Administer construction contracts, including change orders and variations.
• Analyse cost data to spot trends and potential savings.
• Develop cost benchmarks for future projects.
• Maintain comprehensive cost records and documentation.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication.

Required profile

• BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• 0‑2 years of experience in quantity surveying or commercial management.
• Proficiency with cost estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Understanding of construction processes, contracts and procurement methods.
• Experience with CostX or CATO measurement tools.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to analyse issues and propose solutions.
