Occupational Health Nurse

About the role

P&G is seeking qualified Occupational Health Nurses to join its team in Egypt, with positions available at both the Cairo Business Office and the 6th of October City Plant. The site nurse works closely with the Medical Leader and the site Occupational Health Physician to protect and promote employee health and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Preventive care: assist with pre-employment and periodic check-ups, carry out occupational health tests such as audiometry and lung function tests, run health awareness trainings and events, and implement vaccination programmes.
• Support rehabilitation and return-to-work programmes, ergonomic assessments, and monthly workplace inspections including life-support equipment checks.
• Train staff in first aid, basic life support with AED, industrial hygiene and safe food handling, and take part in mock drills and rescue drills.
• Manage sick leave and medical cases, coordinate referrals to hospitals, and track health surveillance for employees in hazardous roles.
• Curative care: provide first aid and emergency medical care, and follow up on hospital referrals.
• Promotive care: run health awareness events such as World Diabetes Day, World Heart Day and Occupational Health Day.
• Maintain accurate, confidential medical records, ensure respirator users have medical clearance, and keep medical knowledge up to date.

Required profile

• Qualified, certified and currently licensed nurse under the country's laws.
• Medium to advanced fluency in English.
• Occupational Health qualification or a desire to pursue it is strongly desired; highest nursing qualification available in the country is an advantage.
• Detailed knowledge of the country's health care legislation is strongly desired.
• Experience in occupational health, emergency medicine, intensive care, toxicology or similar fields is an advantage.
