Pipeline Designer

About the role

Longitude is seeking an experienced Pipeline Designer to join its multidisciplinary engineering team. You will be responsible for creating and delivering high‑quality pipeline layouts, drawings and documentation for offshore projects across the energy, renewables and maritime sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate pipeline layouts, engineering drawings and design documentation, meeting schedule and quality targets.
• Collaborate with engineering and multidisciplinary teams to support project execution and achieve objectives.
• Assist engineers and designers in solving design and drafting challenges.
• Liaise with clients and project teams on design matters, ensuring clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure all deliverables comply with client specifications, industry codes, company standards and regulations.
• Report progress, risks and resource needs to line managers.
• Review and check drawings and layouts for accuracy, quality and compliance.
• Provide technical guidance to junior designers and drafting staff when required.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support additional project needs.
• Uphold Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental (QHSE) standards across all locations.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in pipeline design.
• Strong knowledge of industry standards and codes, with the ability to apply them to process and pipeline drawings.
• Experience updating drawings from field red‑line mark‑ups and as‑built information.
• Practical understanding of pipeline fabrication, pipe fitting, routing and related construction activities.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, AutoCAD 3D and strong working knowledge of SmartPlant software.
• Experience with 3D design platforms such as PDMS, Tribon, Inventor or similar.
