Plumbing & Fire Protection Engineer

About the role

At Atkins Realis we are seeking an experienced Plumbing & Fire Protection Engineer to lead the review and coordination of plumbing and fire protection systems for our projects in Egypt and the UAE. The role involves ensuring design compliance, supporting contractors and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve plumbing and fire protection design submissions from contractors.
• Verify compliance with international codes, project specifications and UAE local regulations.
• Perform hydraulic calculations, pipe sizing and pressure‑drop analysis.
• Respond to technical queries and provide guidance to contractors.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and review shop drawings and material submittals.
• Travel to the UAE for short‑term site visits as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in plumbing and fire protection systems, with proven Middle‑East project exposure.
• Strong knowledge of international codes and UAE civil‑defence requirements.
