Professor/Lecturer in Graphic & Interaction Design

About the role

The German University in Cairo’s Faculty of Applied Science and Arts seeks a Professor or Lecturer for its Graphic Design Department, focusing on Interaction Design. The appointment will begin in September 2026 and involve teaching undergraduate and graduate courses.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver courses that teach visual structuring of information for digital applications.
• Guide students in planning, designing, prototyping and presenting concepts for mobile, tablet and desktop platforms.
• Lead research initiatives and supervise master’s theses in interaction and service design.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners on design projects.

Required profile

• Professional experience in interface design for mobile and responsive web solutions.
• Strong background in graphic layout, typography and visual language systems.
• Knowledge of user‑centered research methods and service design.
• Ability to work with diverse cultural and aesthetic perspectives.
• Excellent communication and academic writing skills in English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe XD and Sketch.
• Experience in designing connected user experiences and engagement strategies.
• Understanding of design implications in social, cultural, economic, scientific or technological contexts.
