Quantity Surveyor MEP (Pre-Contract)

About the role

JLL is looking for an Assistant Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor with pre-contract experience, working on-site in Cairo. The role covers cost management and quantity surveying consultancy services before and after contract, with excellent take-off skills.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare budget and pre-contract cost estimates, and cost plans at various stages
• Prepare Bills of Quantities in standard formats and pre-tender cost estimates
• Write tender evaluation reports and manage change control for additional works
• Take part in cost reporting and prepare budgets versus actuals reconciliation reports
• Review measurement tasks using CostX or equivalent software
• Prepare cash flow forecasts for the project and attend commercial meetings with stakeholders

Required profile

• 3-5 years of experience in the real estate sector
• Degree in a related subject such as Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil, Architectural, Electrical or Mechanical engineering, or equivalent
• Experience preferably in the Middle East, though not essential
• Proactive, hardworking and detail-oriented, able to work under pressure

Required skills

• Knowledge of standard measurement methods such as POMI, CSI, NRM1, NRM2 and others
• AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
• Cost estimation and quantity surveying software such as CostX, Plan Swift, Bluebeam or Candy is advantageous
