Scaffolding Design Engineer

About the role

Doka, part of the Umdasch Group, is a global supplier of scaffolding systems and is looking for a Scaffolding Engineer to join its engineering team in Cairo. The engineer contributes to projects across Saudi Arabia, working about 75% in the office and 25% on site.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare scaffolding drawings for quotation and execution (shop drawings)
• Carry out structural analyses of scaffolding based on accepted local standards
• Generate material lists to support quotations and deliveries
• Provide on-site technical support when needed
• Coordinate closely with the Business Development Manager Scaffolding & Safety on technical issues and scaffolding activities
• Perform other tasks requested by the Business Development Manager

Required profile

• At least 3 years of experience in access scaffolding
• Civil Engineering or technical qualification
• Ringlock design experience is a must
• 3D CAD knowledge is mandatory; advanced CAD knowledge and Revit knowledge are a plus
• Site experience (assembly/dismantling) and previous work with contractors executing scaffolding are a plus
• Attention to detail, technical/static understanding, cost-conscious design, ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, and ability to work independently
