Seasonal Facility Services Assistant

About the role

This temporary, seasonal position supports the LSU Alexandria campus by performing a variety of grounds‑keeping and basic construction tasks. The role is essential for maintaining the appearance and safety of outdoor areas and assisting with event set‑ups.

Key responsibilities

• Operate mowers and tractors to cut grass and maintain lawns.
• Perform landscaping duties such as trimming shrubs, raking, mulching, and caring for flower beds.
• Dig ditches, clean culverts and drains, and remove roadway obstructions.
• Load, unload, and transport materials (sand, lumber, asphalt, cement) across campus.
• Assist with event logistics by moving tables, chairs, podiums, and delivering supplies.
• Support skilled workers with unskilled tasks like mixing concrete and moving heavy equipment.
• Carry out any additional duties assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Physical ability to perform manual labor, lift heavy objects, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Willingness to follow safety procedures and complete a background check.
• Reliability and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
