Senior Editor, AUC Today

About the role

The Senior Editor leads the end‑to‑end production of AUC Today, a university magazine published four times a year in both print and digital formats. Reporting to the Director of Content, the role shapes editorial themes, oversees content creation, and ensures high‑quality delivery across all channels.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full production cycle of four annual issues, from theme development to distribution.
• Write, edit, fact‑check, and coordinate stories, photography, and design.
• Oversee freelance and in‑house writers, photographers, and designers, ensuring editorial consistency.
• Update the magazine’s online presence, e‑newsletter, and website, integrating SEO best practices.
• Produce readership reports, surveys, and incorporate insights into future issues.
• Provide writing and editing support for university‑wide publications such as the President’s Report.

Required profile

• BA in journalism, communications, or a related field.
• 5–8 years of professional experience in writing, editing, and magazine production.
• Experience in a university or large institution environment is preferred.

Required skills

• Exceptional English writing and editing abilities, strong command of grammar and style (AP style a plus).
• Proficiency with print and online publishing workflows.
• Ability to use standard computer tools and software for editorial tasks.
