Senior Internal Control Specialist

About the role

The Senior Internal Control Specialist will lead the design, implementation, and testing of internal controls for the Egypt business unit. You will partner with process owners to identify gaps, mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Act as internal controls business partner, advising control owners on requirements.
• Assess operational and design gaps and collaborate on risk mitigation.
• Conduct walkthroughs and test controls for design and operating effectiveness.
• Investigate deficiencies, develop SMART remediation plans, and monitor progress.
• Mentor Internal Control Specialists and provide on‑the‑job coaching.
• Prepare detailed reports on findings and recommendations.
• Stay current with regulatory developments and industry best practices.
• Identify opportunities to streamline control processes.
• Support internal and external auditors with documentation and follow‑up.

Required profile

• 4‑6 years of experience in FMCG or Big Four environment.
• University degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
• Professional certification (ACCA, CPA, CIA, CFE) or progress toward one.
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
• Advanced MS Excel skills.
• Experience extracting, reviewing, and analyzing complex data sets.
