Senior Primary Design Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Primary Design Engineer to lead the electrical design of substations and power plant projects. You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality layout drawings, equipment sizing, grounding and lightning protection solutions while ensuring compliance with international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review general layout drawings, equipment arrangement, and cable raceway designs (above and underground).
• Perform grounding calculations, grounding grid layout, secondary equipment grounding, and lightning protection system design in line with IEC 62305 and NFPA 780.
• Size electrical equipment such as MV/LV cables, transformers, diesel generators, and circuit breakers.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, and mechanical disciplines to integrate electrical installations.
• Evaluate supplier proposals, review supplier drawings and calculations, and select equipment based on technical requirements.
• Monitor project progress, resolve technical issues, and mentor junior engineers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Power specialization); Master’s or PhD is a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in primary design of substations or power plants.
• Strong knowledge of IEC, IEEE, NEC, and related standards.
• Experience with international, multi‑cultural projects.
