Senior Relationship Manager – SME

About the role

The Senior Relationship Manager for SME clients acts as the primary point of contact, coordinating with product teams to deliver comprehensive banking solutions. The role owns client account plans, monitors profitability, and drives cross‑selling across the portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor overall client profitability, share of wallet and cross‑selling opportunities alongside product managers.
• Prepare and complete credit memos, support analysts in memo writing and attend credit committees.
• Develop and maintain detailed account plans and actively participate in round‑table discussions.
• Collaborate with team heads and product managers to design bespoke solutions for clients.
• Lead annual client reviews, identify improvement areas and mentor analysts on operational tasks.
• Manage end‑to‑end sales cycles from pitching to contract negotiation in close cooperation with product teams.
• Identify new business opportunities within designated sectors and maintain strong client relationships.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience.
• Completion of a Credit Course (mandatory).
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Comprehensive knowledge of banking products such as lending, cash management, FX, treasury and investment banking.
• Strong understanding of competitor positioning, credit risk policies and facility structuring.
• Awareness of the regional economic, political and business environment.
• Strong communication, negotiation skills and meticulous attention to detail.
