Senior System Administrator

About the role

The Senior Systems Administrator ensures the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the organization’s in‑house information systems. This role monitors, maintains, supports, and optimises software and operating systems while mentoring Systems Engineer staff.

Key responsibilities

• Manage internal systems and cloud infrastructure.
• Administer Microsoft technologies: Windows Server, Exchange, SQL, SharePoint.
• Maintain virtualization platforms: VMware vSphere, vCenter, and multisite VMware environments.
• Monitor and respond to system alerts via remote monitoring tools.
• Escalate and resolve support issues related to core business solutions.
• Document system configurations, maintenance procedures, and infrastructure changes.
• Communicate incident progress and planned outages to clients.
• Perform hands‑on troubleshooting and deployment of Windows Server (2008, 2012, 2016) and SAN/NAS storage.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 7–10 years of system engineering experience.
• Proven track record designing, developing, and implementing software systems.
• Strong knowledge of systems planning, security principles, and best practices.
• Ability to prioritize tasks in high‑pressure environments and make sound emergency decisions.
• Effective communication of technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft MCSA/MCSE, VCA, VCP or equivalents.

• Windows Server 2008, 2012, 2016 administration.
• Microsoft Exchange, SQL Server, SharePoint.
• VMware vSphere (6.5 and 6.x) and vCenter management.
• SAN and NAS storage administration.
• Virtualisation and remote monitoring tools.
• Advanced troubleshooting and documentation skills.
