Senior/Lead Urban Designer – Cairo

About the role

Dar’s Planning & Urban Design Department is looking for a Senior/Lead Urban Designer to join the Cairo Design Center. You will work within a multidisciplinary creative team on high‑profile regional and international projects across the Gulf and MENA regions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development of high‑quality urban design and master‑planning concepts from conceptual to visionary stages.
• Deliver innovative design solutions for large‑scale, complex projects and ensure they meet company quality standards.
• Act as Group Leader or Project Manager, overseeing project timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
• Prepare and present urban‑design graphics, reports, and visualisation materials with strong communication standards.
• Coordinate with architects, planners, economists, engineers and external consultants.
• Represent Dar in client and stakeholder meetings, communicating design ideas clearly.
• Supervise, guide and mentor junior designers, planners and interns.

Required profile

• Proven experience in urban design and master planning on regional or international projects.
• Strong leadership and project‑management capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills for diverse audiences.
• Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary environments.

Required skills

• Advanced urban‑design graphics and visualisation techniques.
• Familiarity with urban design methodologies, planning principles and technical coordination.
• Knowledge of QA/QC procedures and standards.
