Software Engineer – Business Critical Systems

About the role

We are looking for a software engineer who can deeply understand business problems, think in systems, and own outcomes in production. You will work on business‑critical services where performance, reliability, correctness, and operational clarity are essential.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret product and business requirements and translate them into clear technical plans.
• Design, build, and maintain systems that meet team needs.
• Analyze existing data flows, operational workflows, and legacy code.
• Improve system performance, reliability, scalability, and correctness.
• Debug production incidents, identify root causes, and measure impact using logs, metrics, and dashboards.
• Safely modernise legacy components while ensuring continuity.
• Collaborate with product, operations, support, and engineering teams.
• Document decisions, trade‑offs, and implementation details.
• Use AI tools and coding agents responsibly according to internal guidelines.

Required profile

• Strong fundamentals in software engineering and core system concepts (data storage, APIs, consistency, performance, scalability).
• Ability to turn ambiguous business needs into practical, working software.
• Experience debugging real‑world production issues.
• Solid understanding of system design and technical trade‑offs.
• Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Self‑driven ownership and willingness to learn new domains, tools, and technologies quickly.

Required skills

• Go, Ruby (Rails), PHP (Laravel), Python, Flutter or similar development stacks.
• PostgreSQL, message queues, event‑driven architectures, distributed systems.
• Observability, monitoring, and performance profiling tools.
• Experience with marketplaces, fintech, logistics, SaaS, or internal tools.
• Proficiency with AI‑assisted development tools following internal guidelines.
