Solar Design Engineer

About the role

EgyBell is seeking a Solar Design Engineer to join a leading renewable energy company. You will be responsible for designing small to medium‑scale PV solar projects, covering both on‑grid and off‑grid systems, and leading the design team through concept to detailed execution.

Key responsibilities

• Design and revise preliminary solar system layouts, providing 3D views, Pvsyst reports and BOQs.
• Lead the design team and develop solar layout drawings using CAD, SLD, concrete and wiring plans.
• Generate design calculations (voltage drop, cable and tray sizing) in Excel.
• Conduct technical site visits, handle RFQs from suppliers and support tendering processes.
• Coordinate with internal departments (Aftersales, Sales, Operations) and communicate with suppliers to streamline installation.
• Participate in technical meetings with clients and contribute to design department tool development.
• Research emerging technologies in solar energy.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical design for solar projects.
• Experience in structural design is a plus.
