Steward – Hotel Utility Cleaner

About the role

The Steward (Utility Cleaner) supports essential hotel operations by maintaining cleanliness across multiple departments such as kitchen, food and beverage, and laundry. Working at a Marriott hotel in Cairo, you will ensure that guests enjoy spotless dining ware, fresh linens, and a safe, hygienic environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare clean linen and dining ware for guest use.
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment, including dish‑washing machines, hand‑wash stations, and linen washers/dryers.
• Transport dishware and linens throughout the hotel.
• Follow safety procedures, report accidents or unsafe conditions, and uphold quality standards.
• Lift, move, and place objects up to 50 lb without assistance.
• Stand, walk, or sit for extended periods and perform overhead and low‑reach tasks.

Required profile

• No high‑school diploma or GED required.
• No prior related work experience needed.
• No supervisory experience or licenses required.
• Ability to follow company policies, maintain a professional appearance, and communicate effectively.
• Physical capability to lift ≤50 lb and remain on feet for long periods.
