Tax & General Accounts Accountant

About the role

The Tax & General Accounts Accountant will join Karawia Pack’s finance team in Port Said, handling both day‑to‑day accounting operations and tax compliance. This full‑time, on‑site position ensures accurate financial records and timely tax filings while supporting month‑end and year‑end closing activities.

Key responsibilities

• Record daily accounting entries and maintain the general ledger.
• Reconcile bank and subsidiary accounts to ensure accuracy.
• Prepare, review and file tax calculations, declarations and related documentation in line with local regulations.
• Monitor changes in tax legislation and apply updates to company processes.
• Assist with monthly and annual closing, producing financial statements and reports.
• Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation.
• Coordinate with other departments to collect and verify financial data.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of general accounting principles, journal entries, ledger maintenance and account reconciliation.
• Practical experience in tax accounting, tax filings and compliance with local tax laws.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel, with the ability to generate and analyse reports.
• Attention to detail, strong numerical skills and ability to work accurately under time constraints.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for interaction with internal teams and auditors.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; professional tax or accounting certifications are a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience; experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is beneficial.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Port Said on a full‑time basis.
