Technical Lead – Roads Shop Drawings

About the role

The Technical Lead, Roads Shop Drawings will head the roads shop‑drawing team at the Egypt Technical Centre, supporting UAE infrastructure projects. The role combines hands‑on technical work with team leadership, overseeing the full lifecycle of road drawing production from IFC review to consultant approval and site release.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and allocate work to senior engineers, engineers, junior engineers, draftsmen and Civil 3D modelers.
• Prepare, draft, amend or correct road shop drawings for urgent or complex items.
• Review and approve internal road shop drawings before external submission.
• Ensure accurate preparation of layout, setting‑out, grading, longitudinal profile, cross‑section, pavement, kerb, signage, road‑marking and traffic‑interface drawings.
• Validate Civil 3D outputs (alignments, profiles, surfaces, corridors, quantities, levels).
• Coordinate road drawings with utilities, structures, storm‑water, ITS and existing services.
• Identify design gaps, constructability risks and manage RFIs and consultant comments.
• Control the drawing submission programme and maintain tracking registers.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading a road shop‑drawing team.
• Strong knowledge of road design standards and construction practices.
• Ability to review and resolve technical, authority and constructability issues.
• Excellent attention to detail and coordination skills.
