Virtual Medical Assistant – Prior Authorization & Scheduling

About the role

Metaplier is seeking a full‑time Virtual Medical Assistant to support U.S. healthcare providers remotely. The role focuses on prior‑authorization processing, patient scheduling, and maintaining accurate medical records while communicating fluently in English.

Key responsibilities

• Submit and track prior‑authorization requests with insurance companies.
• Verify patient insurance information and update records.
• Coordinate appointment scheduling, manage changes, and confirm visits.
• Communicate with patients, providers, and insurers via phone and email in clear English.
• Maintain organized, secure patient data in compliance with practice protocols.
• Assist with chart preparation, laboratory orders, and other routine office workflows.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or Virtual Medical Assistant, preferably supporting U.S. providers.
• Familiarity with prior‑authorization, insurance verification, and general office procedures.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical/administrative workflows.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, high‑volume call environment.
• Reliable high‑speed internet and a quiet home workspace.

Required skills

• Proficiency with eClinicalWorks (ECW) or similar EHR platforms.
• Experience using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Accurate data‑entry and secure handling of sensitive patient information.
